Looking to escape the cold, gloomy winter weather? Want to get away with the kids for a much needed family bonding trip that won’t break the bank? Then look no further than LEGOLAND in Orlando, Florida because it is so worth it! And I know what your thinking…”I’m gonna get sick of building LEGOs alllll day!” Well, you are in for a real treat because LEGOLAND is oh so much more than just LEGOs. Although, it does have a ton of things built entirely of them!!

Yup, all LEGOs! Except for the cute fam, that’s mine!

Unlike other huge theme parks with horrendously long lines and packed shows, this place was so quaint, clean, well staffed, and totally manageable in 1 day, or spend 2 days and take your time and ride all the rides a million times, like we did!! My 8-yr-old and my 6-yr-old were tall enough to go on all the rides and they took full advantage of that! Their favorites were Flying School, Project X, and Coastersaurus, to name a few. I was really impressed with how many good thrilling attractions they had! And yes, I rode them all dozens of times also!

If you have little ones, don’t worry, there was an entire LEGO DUPLO area and lots and lots of rides for the little ones and playgrounds and areas to build your very own LEGO creations! There is also MINILAND USA where you can view real-life replicas of some of America’s most well known cities or attractions like Daytona Speedway, Kennedy Space Center (with an actual liftoff), or an old pirate ship…made entirely of LEGOs! And don’t forget to stop and see the waterski show! So fun!

Now, on to where to stay:

There is the LEGOLAND Hotel & Resort located just steps from the main entrance of the park which seemed colorful and fun and I’m sure fantastic. However, we opted to stay at the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat just .5 miles down the street. There is a convenient shuttle with a lovely driver that takes you back and forth, or you can drive and park at LEGOLAND for free just by showing your room key! Our beach house was so adorable! We loved having our own front door and a place to call home. The room off the main area had bunks and the pull out trundle was such a bonus!

The rooms were sweet and cute and fun without being cheesy or weird the way some “themed rooms” can be. The restaurant provided a delicious breakfast buffet with a cute area for the kids to play with LEGOs. The part my boys liked the most was the Beach Party they had each night in the heated pool area filled with foam floating LEGOs! Aside from the pool, there was music, a sandy beach area, playground, and concession stand. At the end of the night there was a contest for the kids and we came away as the big winner!

There were so many aspects of LEGOLAND that I really enjoyed but I’ll sum it up with a few bullet points:

-Great Rides

-Not crowded

-Courteous staff

-LEGOS as far as the eye could see

We are not the type of family that does big huge trips every year. I am serious when I say that I am sooooooo thrilled that we visited LEGOLAND with our two boys. I highly recommend you do too!
