Eat More Salads!

Salads are a quick way to get your veggies and all of the nutrients you need to stay healthy.  I am always looking for quick ways to eat at home, and it only takes a few minutes to grab some bagged lettuce from the fridge and whatever other vegetables you would like.  I added some of my daughter’s wheat pasta, some mozzarella cheese, and opened a can of chic peas to mix it up.  Plus, these are all ways to add protein to the salad.  I love Garlic Expressions salad dressing for a lot of flavor without a lot of calories.  I usually put hard boiled eggs on my salads that I buy pre-cooked to make it quick and easy.

Many people talk about how salads can be high in calories depending on the dressing, but I still think it’s better that eating a sandwich, pizza, or anything else with bread.  Plus after eating this type of salad, I don’t feel tired or bogged down from eating a heavy meal.  It’s definitely filling with the protein so I don’t feel hungry for a while.  I always feel better after eating this type of salad for making a healthy choice
