I took my almost four year old daughter to Cinderella at the Playhouse Theater a couple of weeks ago and it was quite the experience. This was the first time she has ever been to any theater other than the movie theater and it was a special night for us. I have always loved seeing Broadway shows and enjoy musical theater very much.
The Cinderella play was very impressive and the actors/actresses were extremely talented. The costumes and dancing was incredible. The only thing that threw me off is that it was actually not the same as the original Cinderella story. I don’t want to ruin it, but it was very different and actually geared more toward the adult audience. There were a lot of children there, but there were also very many older (elderly) audience members.
My daughter loved it and her favorite part was obviously seeing Cinderella turn into a princess and then as the bride. The show did not end until after 10:00 p.m. though, which is really late for someone her age, but sometimes it is necessary to stay out later than normal to do fun, different things.
I also underestimated the amount of time it took to get out of the parking garage. We parked in the garage right next to the theater on the fourth floor, and it took a good 30-45 minutes to get of the garage. We didn’t end up getting home until 11:30 that night, but it was worth it. Plus, on our way home we drove right underneath the beautiful, huge chandelier and my daughter has been talking about it ever since. We looked up through the moon roof and saw the beautiful crystals gleaming.
We are looking forward to our next theater experience
