Stuck inside the house for yet another day of pandemic quarantine? Kids done with their schoolwork and burnt out on the screen time? Yeah, here too. Luckily we recently discovered Adventerra Games, “the environmental games!”

According to the Adventerra Games web site, they “create and develop educational games for children that are focused on environmental themes. Our unique games were created from our desire to inspire families to respect nature and safeguard our planet.

While playing our simple and enjoyable boardgames, players intuitively learn new behaviors that reduce their ecological footprints. When these behaviors become lifetime habits, players will have become super-heroes for the planet!”

We tried WaterGame, which is structured around learning ways to save water in everyday life. My kids were immediately drawn to the bright colors of the game board and the easy-to-understand instructions. And they loved the cute fish-shaped player pieces!

As players move around the game board, they are able to save or “waste” water based on answers to questions on the cards. It’s a great way to introduce the concept of smart water usage to young children and to encourage a healthy environmental viewpoint.

WaterGame retails for $24.95 on the Adventerra web site or on Amazon. Other games available include Recycle Rally, Global Warning and PowerHaus. Be sure to check out Adventerra Games while you’re stuck at home. Have fun while teaching your children valuable environmental concepts!
